University of York

The University of York is situated in the city of York, England. This academic institution was found in the year 1963 and this university from then on has expanded to over 30 departments and centres, thereby covering an extensive range of subjects. This university has built a repute in less than half a century, which has helped it to be placed amongst the top 10 in the country, top 20 universities in Europe and ranked 96th in the whole world, in accordance to the 2011 QS World University Rankings.

In the Research Assessment Exercise 2008, this university was also named as the 8th best research institution in the whole of the UK. This university was named the university of the year by Sunday Times in the year 2003 and university of the year by Times Higher Education in the year 2010. This university was asked to join the Russell Group in the year 2012 in acknowledgement of this institution’s world-leading research and excellent teaching.
