Location of New Zealand

New Zealand is located in the Southern Hemisphere region and lies between 34 and 46 degrees of latitude south in the Pacific Ocean. New Zealand lies about the same distance as California or Spain from the equator.

Australia is the nearest large neighboring country which lies to the west of the country.

New Zealand is said to have an area of 268, 680 square kilometers including places like Auckland Islands, Campbell Islands, Kermadec Islands, Chatham Islands, Antipodes Islands and Bounty Islands and this total area makes the country to be slightly smaller than Japan and Italy and a little bit larger than United Kingdom.

The wide range of the landscape of New Zealand is said to have made the country very famous to visit and also to produce various television programmes and films too.

North and South Islands are the two main islands present in the geography of this country.
