The Universite du Quebec a Trois-Rivieres is a campus of the Universite du Quebec that is present in Trois-Rivieres, Quebec. This university was established in the year 1969. This university was formed in the year 1969 with the union of the "Centre d'Etudes universitaires de Trois-Rivieres" and "L'ecole normale d'Etat Maurice Duplessis". Ringuet, was the first major campus of this institution which was established in the year 1973 and is situated in the vicinity of Des Forges and Des Recollets boulevards close to downtown Trois-Rivieres.
This university has expanded outside of the city into numerous towns in the Centre-du-Quebec, Monteregie,Lanaudiere, Quebec and Chaudiere-Appalaches regions. The University Of Montreal Faculty Of Medicine has managed to run a satellite campus of its medical school at this university, since 2004.
This university has enjoyed a period of long term development interspersed by numerous periods of short term fluctuation right from 1973-2009.
