Simon Fraser University

Simon Fraser University is present in British Columbia and its main campus is present in Burnaby Mountain, Burnaby. This Canadian public research university has its satellite campuses in Surrey and Vancouver. The main campus that is present in Burnaby was founded in the year 1965 and possesses over 34000 students and 950 faculty members. This university is neighboring to a new urban village known as UniverCity. This university got its name from Simon Fraser, a North West Company fur trader and explorer. Undergraduate and graduate programs are offered in a year-round tri-semester schedule. This university is the only Canadian university which is present in the National Collegiate Athletic Association. In the year 2007, this university became the first and still remains to be the only university to be rewarded the Prix du XXe siecle from the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada that acknowledged the "enduing excellence of nationally significant architecture". This university was ranked 1st amongst Canada's Comprehensive Universities by Maclean's in the year 2009, 2010 and 2011.
