British Columbia Institute of Technology

The British Columbia Institute of Technology is present in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada. This public, coeducational institution of higher education has 5 campuses situated in the Metro Vancouver region, while the main campus is present in Burnaby. The Aerospace campus is present in Richmond, while the marine campus is in North Vancouver, the Great Northern Way and Downtown campus in Vancouver. The main campus has a large library, sports field and a gym, numerous lecture rooms, computer labs, shops and student services and administration offices. The recent addition to this campus is the Centre for Applied Research.

This university was founded as the British Columbia Vocational School in the year 1960, with an opening enrollment of 498 students. The student enrollment went up to 16625 full time students and 31599 part time students as of 2009. Ever since its establishment, this institution has been the home to more than 125000 alumni. There are even students who attend studies virtually and around 8310 students are distance education learners. Study in Canada is very famous these days and this goes to prove that fact.

This university turned out to be the first location in Canada for a Confucius Institute. The Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board awarded national accreditation to this university's Bachelor of Electrical Engineering program.
