The University of Ballarat

The University of Ballarat is present in Ballarat, Victoria, Australia. This university is a dual-sector university. This university was formed by the passage of an Act of the Victorian Parliament in the year 1994 from the Ballarat College of Advanced Education. This university then combined with the Ballarat School of Mines and Industries and the Horsham based Wimmera Institute of TAFE in the year 1998 to craft a larger university.

As of 2008, there were 25810 students present in this university of which 13820 students were higher education students and 11990 were technical and further education students. Education in Australia is always too good when compared to other countries.

This university attained a maximum 5 star rating for teaching quality in the 2011 Good Universities Guide. This was then complemented with 4 stars for graduate contentment, staff-student ratios, obtaining a job, access by equity groups and cultural diversity. This placed the university in the top row of regional universities.

The teaching performance of this university was also ranked in the top 10 of Australian Universities in accordance to the data released by the Federal Department of Education, Science and Training in the year 2005 Melbourne Institute Rankings. This university has 6 campuses, three of which are present in Ballarat, and one each in Horsham, Ararat and Stawell.
