Charles Darwin University has campuses at the Darwin suburb of Casuarina, the city of Palmerston, and the towns of Alice Springs, Nhulunbuy, and Katherine together with some small training centrs in Tennant Creek, Yulara, and Jabiru. This university was founded on January 1 2004 from the union of Northern Territory University of Darwin and Centralian College of Alice Springs. This university was named after Charles Darwin, the renowned English naturalist.
